How 2C Media handles personal information on 2cmedia.ca
Effective and last updated: September 2, 2026
2C Media Inc. ("2C Media," "we," "us," or "our") values directness and trust. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through www.2cmedia.ca (the "Site"), why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.
In short: we collect the information you choose to send us, limited technical information generated when you use the Site, and information produced through Site tools such as chat and embedded media. We use it to respond to you, operate and improve the Site, protect our business, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.
This Policy applies to personal information collected through the Site and related communications that begin through the Site. It does not govern separate websites or services that the Site links to, including the 2C shop hosted by Shopify, Cal.com booking pages, Coda forms, Google Maps, social platforms, or other third-party destinations. Those services have their own privacy practices.
When 2C Media collects personal information in connection with a client project, production, casting process, interview, event, job application, contractor engagement, release, or other offline activity, a separate agreement, notice, release, or consent may also apply. If there is a conflict, the more specific document governs that activity.
When you contact us or submit a Site form, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, company or organization, project description, message, budget or yearly revenue range, desired timeline, and any other information you choose to provide. If you use a chat feature, we may also receive chat content, contact details, timestamps, and related support information.
Please do not send sensitive personal information, confidential client material, unreleased creative assets, or third-party personal information through a general Site form or chat unless we have asked for it and provided an appropriate way to send it.
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical and usage information such as your IP address, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, links selected, dates and times of access, session information, and cookie or similar identifiers.
The Site is hosted using Webflow and uses Google Tag Manager to manage Site tags. Depending on the tags enabled at the time of your visit and your consent choices, analytics services may also collect information about how the Site is used. Some pages use LiveChat and embedded media providers such as YouTube or Embedly. These tools may collect technical and interaction information when they load or when you use them.
We may receive information from a booking, form, chat, email, referral, social media, or other service you use to communicate with us. We may also receive business contact information from a colleague, referral partner, event organizer, or publicly available professional source where it is reasonable and lawful to do so.
We use personal information to respond to inquiries; understand your organization, project, budget, and timing; schedule calls; prepare estimates or proposals; communicate about potential or active work; provide requested services; operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure the Site; understand Site performance and visitor journeys; improve our content and services; prevent misuse, fraud, or security incidents; keep appropriate business records; enforce agreements; and comply with legal, regulatory, tax, insurance, or professional obligations.
We may send marketing or promotional communications where you have consented or where the law otherwise permits. You can unsubscribe using the method provided in the message or by contacting us. Transactional, project, security, and service communications are not marketing and may still be sent where necessary.
We may create aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify an individual and use it for legitimate business purposes, such as understanding overall Site traffic or inquiry patterns.
We seek consent in a form appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and the circumstances. For example, when you submit an inquiry, you authorize us to use the information to review and respond to that inquiry. Where a use is not reasonably necessary for the requested service or is outside what you would reasonably expect, we will seek additional consent unless the law permits or requires the use without consent.
You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to reasonable notice and any legal or contractual restrictions. Withdrawal may limit our ability to respond to you or provide a requested service. We may retain limited information where required by law, reasonably necessary to resolve a dispute, or needed to record and respect an opt-out request.
Essential technologies. These support core Site operation, security, traffic routing, and form functionality.
Analytics technologies. If enabled, these help us understand visits, page performance, referral sources, and general interaction patterns so we can improve the Site.
Functional technologies. These support features such as chat, media playback, and user preferences.
Third-party and embedded content. A video, chat widget, or other embedded service may allow its provider to collect information directly from your browser, including through cookies or similar technologies. The provider's own privacy policy also applies to that collection.
Where required, the Site will ask for your choice before non-essential technologies are used. You can also manage cookies through your browser. Blocking some technologies may affect how certain Site features work. A privacy policy does not replace any consent banner or just-in-time notice required for the technologies actually enabled on the Site.
We may provide personal information to service providers that help us host and operate the Site, process forms, provide chat or communications, manage analytics, store records, maintain security, or support our business. These providers may include Webflow, LiveChat, Google services used for tag management or analytics, and providers of embedded media. We aim to provide only the information reasonably necessary for the provider's role and require appropriate handling through contractual or other safeguards where appropriate.
We may also disclose information to professional advisers and insurers; to a buyer, investor, lender, or successor in connection with a proposed or completed business transaction, subject to appropriate protections; where required or authorized by law; to protect our rights, property, personnel, clients, visitors, or the public; or with your consent or at your direction.
We do not sell personal information.
Some service providers may process or store personal information outside Alberta or Canada, including in the United States or other jurisdictions where they or their subprocessors operate. Information in another jurisdiction may be subject to that jurisdiction's laws and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, or national security authorities in accordance with those laws. Contact our Privacy Officer if you want more information about relevant service providers or processing locations.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, to maintain appropriate business and security records, to meet legal, tax, insurance, accounting, and contractual requirements, and to resolve or defend disputes. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information, the nature of our relationship, the sensitivity of the information, and applicable obligations. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete, destroy, or de-identify it.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity and amount of personal information in our custody or control. These may include access controls, account security, service-provider review, staff practices, secure storage, and deletion procedures. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a privacy breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will take the notification and response steps required by applicable law.
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to personal information we hold about you, ask how it has been used or disclosed, request correction of an error or omission, or withdraw consent. You may also ask a question or raise a complaint about our privacy practices.
Please make requests in writing to our Privacy Officer and provide enough detail for us to understand the request. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and will explain any lawful limitation on access or correction. If a fee is permitted and appropriate, we will tell you before proceeding.
The Site is intended for business and professional audiences and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly use the Site to collect personal information directly from a child who cannot provide meaningful consent. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the Site without appropriate authorization, contact us. Personal information involving minors who participate in a 2C Media production is handled under the applicable client agreement, release, consent, and production process rather than this Site Policy alone.
The Site may link to or display content from services we do not control. When you follow a link or interact with third-party content, that provider may collect information directly from you. We encourage you to review its privacy policy and settings. A link or embed does not make 2C Media responsible for the provider's privacy or security practices.
We may update this Policy as our Site, tools, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised version on the Site and change the date above. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice or seek consent where required by law.
